Budgam, Dec 20 (KNO): Residents in villages of central Kashmir’s Chadoora Budgam are up in arms against the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department for failing to provide drinking water to the residents. Sources told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the villagers from Sogam and Ranger assembled in their villages and protested against PHE Division Chadura for failing to provide drinking water supply to these villagers for the past one month. “We approached the authorities many times in this regard but they always dejected us,” the residents said. “It is now winter and we have to go out early in the morning to collect water from the canals by breaking the icicles,” said a resident of Ranger Chadoora. “We appeal to the administration to look into the matter and to provide the filtered water so that we can have a sigh of relief,” they said. However sub district magistrate Noor Ul Hameed told KNO that he will look into the issue and take the matter with concerned officers—(KNO)
